Default 2025 TX 500h transmission concerns

My new 2025 TX 500h on my slanted driveway shifts very hard from park to reverse or from park to drive. Also, the vehicle doesn’t shift that smooth sometimes going from 30 to 50 mph. Coming from an LX470 that was so flawless with its motor mated to the transmission this TX is disappointing and I’m concerned about future transmission issues.

I am having the same issue in my 2024 TX 500h in terms of not having a smooth shifting, particularly between 30 and 45 mph. The dealer claims they can’t replicate Also had two times where I was at a stop and making a left with traffic coming. The car hesitated almost causing an accident. Not sure if it’s a factor that I usually drive the vehicle in Eco mode.
Love the vehicle but repeated issues with the transmission and gas cap are something I didn’t expect from my third Lexus.

I have a 2026 TX 500h as well and it's thumbs when shifting from an angle. Didn't have any major issues except the right wheel arch gaps and shifter **** clicks a bit when shifting at times.

Possibly similar -- When accelerating an on-ramp it feels like the accelerator or transmission is disengaged. I say accelerator as I don't hear the engine revving up like you would if the transmission was disengaged. I will progress on an on-ramp to about 40 or 45 mph and suddenly it will just go completely soft with no pawer to the wheels. I can push harder on the accelerator with no response. It's happened enough on my 500h (I have 60,000 miles on it) that I learned to release the accelerator and slowly accelerate again. I have had some similar experiences at slow speeds with turns, but they were in areas where I was less concerned (i.e. not merging into traffic at 65+ mph).

Same experience with the dealer -- cannot recreate and therefore it's not a problem, no further help. Not what I would expect from an $80,000 car and especially a Lexus. It's sad as we have been a Lexus family for 15 years and I have put hundreds of thousands of miles on them with no issues.

Anyway to have somebody film it on the phone when it happens. Also, try a different dealer.

What year is your TX?

Its a 2024 but picked it up in November of 23 - was on the wait list. It was one of the first hybrids received by the dealer. Regarding cameras, im thinking about getting a dash cam.

I installed a dashcam on mines, not too hard to do. There are many resources on youtube on different installation. Belong this subject.

For the transmission issues, does it happen when vehicle is cold or warmed up? Probably best to document issue.
