Default Oil Capacity w/ Filter

I just had my break-in oil change at a local shop who is a friend of mine, and the shop put in 5.0QT. The owners manual says 5.6QT when changing the oil and filter. Both the local shop's system (Castrol) and Amsoil website say 5.0QT with filter. The shop checks the dipstick when they are done, and I checked it when I got home, and it looked ok.

Has anyone else had their oil changed and looked at the receipt to see how much oil was actually added? I'm debating just adding 0.5QT for piece of mind.

It seems you got more out than I did a few months ago for my initial oil change at about 1,200 miles. The factory oil was shockingly dark. On level ground with filter change, my engine took 4 quarts to get between the dots and just under the full mark. I was just as confused as you probably are to hear that right now. Im certain I did everything correctly - not my first rodeo..... I would also guess that the filter couldn't hold more than 7 ounces of oil. I only have one datapoint for an oil change on this engine, so keep that in mind.

Since you mentioned it, I used Amsoil ASM Signature Series 0W-20. Just checked the level again last weekend, the level has not changed and the color is still translucent amber; now at about 3.900 miles.
Before you do anything with your oil, I would suggest to take a peek at the dipstick and check the level. Not sure of your comfort level, you can reference pp. 443-445 of the Owners Manual.

Update with some interesting findings as I thought about what happened with both my oil changes.
I just changed the oil again for 5k service. This time it filled with 5 Qts.
The first time, listed above, it turns out the engine was cold after sitting overnight that resulted in a 4 Qt oil change with filter.
This time, a few hours ago, the engine was at full operating temp which resulted in a 5 Qt drain and fill with filter.
Quite the different result! I have not experienced the 'hot/cold' volume difference with other vehicles - primarily US manufacturers; just fewer 1st degree burns......
Cheers!
