Default First Gen Offset Question

Is +42 offset ok for first gen gs300? Will that be tucked or sticking out a little? Thanks.

They have the same offset as the SC4s.

I have a set of Gen. 1 GS3 rims on my SC4.

They're for sale in case you're interested.

Default 42+ is fine

I have a 93 gs300 and had 38+ and currently am running 44+ so your offset should be fine.

We need to know how wide the wheels are! For example, on my brother's (Link 13) '94 GS, we used 19x9 +37 and 19x10 +37. This rear offset & width require rolling the rear fender slightly, but we wanted an aggressive look. The fronts fit perfectly, with no mods.

In contast, a 19x8.5 or 19x9 +37 all around will require no modifications.

Default first gen only

On the first gen gs300 you can't go wider than 8.5 in the front without scrubbing the inner fender, but if you don't mind scrubbing the inner fender then run a 9.0, but to play it on the safe side stick with the 8.5 in the front and 9.0 or 9.5 in the rear.Hope this helps.

How will 18 x 8.5 +42 offset all around work? Thanks for everyone's input.

On the first gen gs300 you can't go wider than 8.5 in the front without scrubbing the inner fender,
Actually, the tire would scrub the fender liner, not the wheel. My brother's 245/35-19 on 19x9 +37 lightly brushes the inner plastic fender liner only when reversing at full-lock. A higher numeric offset would make this worse, so, for example, a 19x8.5 +43 (this has the same backspacing as 19x9 +37) would do the same thing with a 245/35-19 tire. Not to worry, I figure this stuff out for a living... It's not a big deal.

How will 18 x 8.5 +42 offset all around work
This set-up will work fine, they will be a bit more 'tucked in' looking than an 18x8.5 +35 (as an example).
I would use a 245/40-18 tire.

I would get 18x8.5 +35. You should probably get spacers, front:5mm & rear:10mm

Thanks toothbrush. So to clarify. +35 is ideal (no need for spacers,) but if I get +42 then get 5mm spacers up front and 10mm in back? Thanks again.
