19" on a GS
What's the best tire size for 19" on a GS ? f:19x9 r19x10
f: 245/35-19 or 245/40-19
r: 275/30-19 or 275/35-19
245 tire on a 9" wide rims - is this a stretch, or OK ? Would it be better to :
1. narrow the rims to 8.5" and still use 245
2. 9" wide and use 255 ?
Also, in general, would 19x9 w/ 245/35-19 in the front rub ? Anybody ?
Just feel like playing with the options.
Thanks.

245/35/19 and 275/30/19 are the correct size. the other setup is called the fat setup, it's the same diameter as 20s setup and it has a bit better ride comfort. but it's out of spec
for 9", depending on the brands of the tires, it might or might not look stretch. i think 245 should be fine. i believe socalsc4 he has 255/35/19 up front on his 20x9, is that correct?

Still trying to learn here.
Would the rims' lips be better protected with the fat setup, especially from curb rubs?
Thanks tho, rominl.

When you say "correct spec", do you mean the rolling diameter is the same as stock ? And "out of spec" means that the setup, i.e. 19x9 w/ 245/40-19 and general 20" on GS, the rolling diameter is larger than stock ?
Still trying to learn here.

and yes, 245/40/19 and 275/35/19, or 245/35/20 and 275/30/20, they are all out of spec meaning they are a tad bigger in overall diameter compared to stock wheels setup
protection of lips against curb rub i think has something to do with the fat setup, probably the fat setup helps a little bit, but even more it's the size of tires. for example i have 8.5" in the front and i have 245/35/19, which is normal. if i have 255/35/19 i will definitely have more sidewall to protect the lip, as well as since the tires are wider it will help too
of course, again, it varies from brands to brands. bridgestone so3 tends to be quite "round" edge, meaty tires. if you get yokohama, or ferreli, or nitto, they are definitely on the "wide" side
