Is that an acceptable tire size to run with stock suspension? Or is the 40 too big?

It's ok. This tire size is just a littler shorter than a GS on 20s.

245/35/20 = 26.75"
235/40/19 = 26.40"

Thanks a bunch. I thought that a GS on 20's ran a 245/30/20, not 35, but cool, good to know.
