Default Considerations for Summer Tires

Dedicated summer tires are much different than an a traditional all-season tire. Summer tires are just that, tires designed for summer use, or temps above 45deg. They provide excellent traction in the wet and dry while also proving excellent handling capabilities. All-season tires provide traction in a wide range of temps, provide traction in snow, good handling in the wet and dry. For some drivers, this is what they desire. For most, a summer-performance tire is best for summer months.

The three top performing Max Performance Summer tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position, and the Continental Extreme Contact DW. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport is known for its excellent traction and ride quality, but the Bridgestone and Continental aren't too far behind. If wet weather traction is a concern, the Continental offers the best wet weather traction.

Some other Ultra-high Performance Summer tires to consider are the Dunlop Direzza DZ102, BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp2, and the Bridgestone RE760 Sport. In this Ultra-high performance summer tire category, the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp2 stands out for its overall performance and aggressive price.

Track orientated enthusiasts are offered a wide range of tires from the Extreme Performance Summer Category that offer near race level traction. These tires also offer the ability to be used in day to day commuting.

Search by vehicle or search by size to find the tire for your car today.
