245/40/19, oversized tires on GS4
I was wondering if any one has tried this set up yet. 245/40/19 with 275/35/19 in the rear. I don't believe it would rub, but does anyone else know? Anyone try that set up yet? If my calcumation are correct it will increase the height of the car .5 inches and give you about 1/4 inch increase to the side wall.
If anyone has this, please give me you feedback, and if possible, please send me a picture here I wondered how it looked in the wheelwell.

I found an old post about this here is the link and a quote
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...5&pagenumber=2
"As for my decision, I was decided on doing 245/35-19 and 275/30-19 setup vs. 245/40-10 and 275/35-19 setup. I was concerned about how the extra sidewall height would affect the look...after seeing your pictures, I think it looks perfectly normal. I'm doing this setup for a few reason...extra ride comfort, extra rim protection, and extra height (this setup raises the car 0.5" over stock) for extra clearance of my body kit. The only downfall (and it's a very minor one in my book) is the speedo error...which should be only like 3~4 off (slower) than stock for ever 60mph..."

yes, i agree completely. I want the extra height to protect my wheels. I know it will throw off the speedo, but don't forget, it will underrun your odometer. hehe. Over time it won't amount to much.
The roads out here are very bad. I just want to ensure it won't rub.

JB...
should be fine as many 20s are actually in that overall diameter tallness...one thing though, the tyre selections are more limited.which brand/model tyre do you have in mind?

How do you raise a car 1/2 inch with a 1/4 inch increase in sidewall?
Just giving you a hard time.
Someone on here did it and posted pics.

i have this set up on my car, it does rub when theres like 4 ppl and i hit a big bump.. very slightly though.. no big deal. i have +39 offset.. not sure if that matters.. it is a lot smoother ride because ive been in a gs with the 35/30 set up. sometimes it does look a little bulky. ive gotten compliments sayin it does actually look better.. and others sayin.. hmmm looks kinda bulky.. so.. opinion i guess! hehe
