Default Torquing lug centric wheels

I just got my wheels balanced and after being balanced the shop I went to torqued them in the air with an impact wrench w/ a torque stick and then lowered the car to the ground and used a torque wrench to torque to full spec. I have aftermarket wheels w/ no hub rings so I'm lugcentric instead of hubcentric. I was wondering should I re-torque them to full spec while in the air or is it ok to torque them to almost full torque in the air and then full torque with the car on the ground? I've been looking online and have been getting mixed results. I'm concerned with the wheels not being centered since they didn't torque it to full spec in the air which I read is the "right" thing to do with lugcentric wheels. THANKS!!!

As with any wheel fasteners, get them tight in the air and fully torque them with a torque wrench on the ground. I never trust torque sticks, skip it and go straight to the wrench. Re-torque them after a days worth of driving, usually 75 - 100 miles.

I would invest in a set of hub centric rings down the road.
