Offset and Tire Question
I will be getting a pair of lowenharts BDS's in 19's (Chrome 8.5F,9.5R) this week.
My quetion is What is an offset and what offset would i need?
Also What is the thickest tire i can fit on 19's. I dont want a a thin tire maybe 40-45 series. Can this fit on a 19?
I have a 99 GS 300
Thanks

offset: +37-+45 would be fine...
tyres:normally, 245/35/19+275/30/19
or 245/40/19+275/35/19..odometer would be off slightly due to tallness, not that big of a deal..

For the Moda R-6's that are on TireRack, they have 19x8 and
19x9, but the 19x9 is a rear wheel suggestion. Would you have
to do 19x9 in just the rear, or could you purchase the 19x9's
for all 4, without a problem?

You can do 19x9 all around...just run a 245 on the front tire and you should be fine...it will be a little undersized though so the tire may bow inward a little and give you a "rounded edge" look...just aesthetics...some people like it, some don't mind, some hate it...

twenty1 - well a 8.5" mates perfectly with a 245. On a 8" wide wheel, the 245 will "bulge" a little. It's hard to say if you'd like it or not (even a 245/9") because everyone's "tolerance" is different...and some tires are better for undersized wheels and some are better for oversized wheels...
It's not going to be a HUGE difference, noticable, but not detrimental IMO.
As for running a 245/40-19 and a 275/35-19, you're right DKNY, It will throw the speedo off (on a SC or GS, but not on a LS since the LS uses a larger outer diameter setup from the factory) but only by a few percent...your ODO will show SLIGHTLY lower mileage than it really has since a larger diameter setup (outer diameter of the tire, not the wheel) takes a longer distance to make one revolution...smaller setups make more revolutions in the same amount of distance...
