colored lexus locking lugnuts
Anyone know where to get something like that? Google doesn't seem to turn up much, not does searching CL. Thanks guys. BTW, when I say 'lexus' please realize that I don't have knowledge of that kinda thing and I am only _assuming_ that lexus has their own style nut maybe that isn't the case and they use some other standard. eitherway you get the idea.

I think the nuts are standardized...there are just a few different standards... I've seen some before but I can't remember the name...why bother changing the lug nuts to a different color?

H,
i know what you are referring to...saw a few different color sets in my jdm wheel catalogues, black, blue, yellow,etc... i have my eyes on a set of TITANIUM lug nuts and locks from japan, which i might just get a set for my next set of "shoes"....

It looks like Gorilla makes a few different types of colored ones. I'm really confused about the whole wheel lock thing. How does it work? Is every lug keyed with a specific pattern and you have to use a wrench attachment to get the lug off? Or is it just one of the 5 lugs that is keyed. If you guys could can you look at http://www.gorilla-auto.com/ ? The 'Part 1' pdf they have on their site has a ton of different lug nuts. There are sets of the closed end acorn nuts I was looking at getting. I think they call them superslim or something. lemme know what you guys think.

Gorilla! That's what I was thinking of! Thanks Hohlraum...
Wheel locks are keyed to a specific key (just like your car keys or house key though, they only have so many "unique" keys) that you place on the lock nut, the back of the key is a standard nut top so that you can use standard tools...
The other bolts on your wheel should be standard ones, not lock nuts. One lock nut per wheel (though I have seen people with two).
Dunno about the whole colored nut thing...kinda screams rice to me...

I actually thought that lugs would be more subtle than calipers or one of those center caps with the big colored nut looking thing. Not to mention I hardly EVER see colored lugs. I guess I'll have to do some photo-chops to make sure it'd look ok.

Hmm, that doesn't look too bad on those particular wheels I suppose...another thing you have to worry about is the finish wearing off (UV and tools)...

Yeah I'd thought about that. There are a couple wheel specialty shops here in st.louis I think I could probably just explain to them that they needed to be careful with the lugs.

This one doesn't look as convincing as the SSR's did because the photo isn't high enough in resolution. These are the OEM GS 17's.
