2008 3GS Spacer Question
All - I need help...
I have purchased 5mm Ichiban spacers, however, due to the design of the spacers, there is not enough of the hub centric lip left to properly align the wheels. In order to install the 5mm spacers, I installed studs that are 5mm longer than the original OEM studs.
I have two choices: I can go with a 10mm spacer (which has a built-in alignment LIP), but I would prefer NOT to install 10mm longer studs as it was quite expensive the first time through. Are the extended 5mm studs long enough to install a 10mm spacer and still secure the OEM wheels??? If not, could I shave the 10mm spacers down to 5 or 7mm at a machine shop safely without compromising their integrity????
Any help appreciated, as I'm tempted to NOT install spacers at this point.
Oh, by the way, out of curiosity is a 10mm spacer safe for the OEM 18" RIMS and tires (factory tire size and RIM)?
