which tire size to go with?
So I recently picked up some Axis Hiros from a friend of mine...staggered.
19 X 8.5 // 19 X 9.5 with a +35 offset.
The car is currently lowered on Teins (spring/strut combo, not CO), but I'm switching to Megans as soon as they get here in the mail
I am trying to figure out what size I can use without having to roll the fender. I currently squeeze 285s on a supra TT wheel, but the offset is all kinds of wrong.
I've looked through the sticky but trying to find a direct answer now is difficult since that thread is over 100 pages long
Thanks,
-J

i plan on running a 285/35/19 rear, 235/30/19 front when i get my 19s...i'm not to worried, if i have to roll my fender i will, i might just pick up one of those fender roller things and a heat gun and do it myself

how about 275/30-19 (its almost identical to stock diameter) whereas 275/35 and 285/35 are quite a bit taller... a 275 should fit with maybe a touch of rolling, it'll be close, might depend on the tire itself... I have 285/30-19's on a 9.5" wheel with a +35 offset and rolled fenders... there is less than 5mm between the tire and the rolled fender, but it looks nice... a 285/30-19 is just a touch taller than stock...

but then you are running a 30 series tire....that's very little sidewall. I'd give up a little bit of tire width for some more rim protection (against denting, not lip) and a smoother ride.

stock
225/55-16 - sidewall height: 4.87" overall diameter: 25.74"
potential options
front
235/30-19 - sidewall height: 2.78" overall diameter: 24.55"
245/30-19 - sidewall height: 2.89" overall diameter: 24.79"
245/35-19 - sidewall height: 3.38" overall diameter: 25.76" *closest to stock*
rear
275/30-19 - sidewall height: 3.25" overall diameter: 25.50"
285/30-19 - sidewall height: 3.36" overall diameter: 25.73" *closest to stock*
275/35-19 - sidewall height: 3.79" overall diameter: 26.58"
285/35-19 - sidewall height: 3.92" overall diameter: 26.85"
So as you see, to minimize changing final drive ratios and torque to the ground (and ground clearance), your best options are 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear... I know the 285's fit on the rear for sure with a fender roll... A common misconception is that going to a 35 series tire will change the overall diameter and sidewall... If you keep the section width the same, then yes, it will change the diameter (look at the 245/30 vs 245/35). Now going to a wider, lower profile tire can have the same sidewall height (look at the 245/35 vs 285/30).

stock size is 225/60-16, so, 26.62" diameter....
Supra TT are staggered 17" wheels...
Front
255/45-17 - 26.03"
245/50-17 - 26.65"
Rear
255/50-17 - 27.03"
285/40-17 - 25.98"
trying to stay as close to stock as possible and keeping a performance size in mind, I think I'd do 255/45 and 285/40...
Closer to stock SC and Supra sizes would be 245/45-17 front, 275/40-17 rear, just an fyi...
