Fitment Question
I used to have a 2001 Maxima. It's stock wheel size was:
Rim size 17x7
Rim bolt Pattern: 5-114
This is exactly the same dimensions as my new ES350. The only difference being tire size. The Maxima had a lower profile and therefore an overall smaller diameter.
I have a set of steal rims that I used for my winter tires on the max. They were 16x6.5 in size. I'm thinking since the ES and the Maxima have the same stock rim size I should be able to use them on my ES. If I put 215/65/r16 tires on them I will be within 1% of the stock wheel size. It will look pretty ugly and I'll have that TPMS warning light on but it should be safe to do this.
Is my thinking sound? Can anyone see anything wrong with what I'm trying to do?

OK. I'm not entirely sure what the center bore is. I did try and put one of the stealies on. The lug bolts lined up but I couldn't tighten it down with the fancy smancy Lexus lug nuts. Looks like I'm going to need a some standard ones to make this work. If the centre bore doesn't fit is there something I can do about it besides getting new rims?

the center bore is the part on the hub that sticks out 3/8" or so that the factory wheel centers itself on - the factory wheel has a hole that directly fits on this hub... not all manufacturers use the same diameter for the hub, but most aftermarket wheels are generic and way too big, so it's usually not a problem unless interchanging factory wheels... one other thing you might want to see about is getting hub rings to make the other wheels actually fit on the hub bore correctly...
