Extreme Tire wear on front right tire?

Extreme Tire wear on front right tire?
So my car is at 23k and i'm buying a new set of potenzas. I noticed for a while now that the front right tire has extreme wear on the sides of the tires but not the middle. The middle seem to have more tread than the sides.
Is this a case of for alignment issues or camber wear?
I still have stock tires, but i'm going up 2 sizes in the front from 225/40/18 to 245/40/18 and up 1 size in the rear from 255/40/18 to 265/35/18.
Thanks for the help.

pictures? typically inside wear is due to negative camber, and if you have inside wear and outside wear, I would guess outright that you drive the car hard... You have one other problem and thats that your tire sizes are wrong for your car... from the factory, your rear tires are taller than your front tires, and now, with your setup, your front tires are taller than your rear tires, which means any alignment settings you thought you had right are now wrong, and ineffectual at keeping tire wear at bay... also, I do not know how wide the front wheel is on that car, and your new tire width may not work too well with that size wheel, though I don't know for sure...
edit: just re-read and see you have stock tires right now... probably nothing more than an alignment issue, but please, get the right size tires - what you are proposing will not work properly on the car... to do it right, you will need 245/40-18 and 275/40-18 (assuming that stuff fits), but then your speedometer and such will be off... what you should really do is 245/35-18 and 275/35-18 this will be fairly close to stock diameters...

If both inside and outside are worn and the middle is fine, it sounds like you are under inflated on that tire. If it were over inflated, the middle would be worn out more than the sides.
If you make any suspension changes make sure it has settled, and then get it aligned at the lowered setting. Hopefully, there is some adjustment room left to get the alignment back so the tires wear evenly if this is what you are after..

fair chance you won't get back into the correct specs... but maybe - most of our cars have a lot of adjustment... if you can't get it into alignment, and there are no aftermarket replacement parts to adjust that beyond the stock adjustment range, then you just have to kinda live with it (or get that car back to its correct ride height)

keep in mind that for a tire to have that severe of wear, it would have to be underinflated most of its life... being that that is the only tire exhibiting that symptom, you can infer that the tires air pressure is checked somewhat regularly, else he'd be worried about all 4 tires...
