Default Increasing the stagger?

Hi, I have a IS 350 with stock rims
orginal size are 225/40/18 and 255/40/18

somebody is offering me a deal of 225/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear
I am wondering if the larger difference front and back will result in any adverse effects.

Thanks

First, based on the sizes you listed, the only increase is a miniscule 10mm increase in the rear width. Un-noticable.

Increasing the stagger (width size differential between the front and rear tires) has no adverse effects. Unless you put something like a 145 front with a 275 rear.......can we all say understeer!!

You really won't see much adverse affect, loss of mpg tho since your tires are wider...

tire weight matters here more as rotational inertia (how unwilling a stopped wheel is to move and how unwilling a moving wheel is to stop) plays a bigger role on fuel economy. The wider tire may indeed be lighter, resulting in better mileage. weight is the key.
