Default The TIRE SEARCH has begun!

My, My, My.... the number of posts re: run flats in the forum on SC430's is quite extensive. I've cut and paste until i'm about to go crazy. I have a 2002 SC430 with the original RF's and just turned 20,000 miles. The noise is AWFUL, the ride is DREADFUL, and the bumps TERRIBLE. I'm not a speeder and we're looking for the ULTRA-QUIET, ULTRA-SMOOTH ride you would expect in a Lexus. Price is not the biggest issue, only the quality and comfort of the ride.

Here's my question: Brand, Model & Size you would recommend?

Thanks! Ken in Ohio (Black & Ecru)

Default Conitental ContiPro All Season Tires(non RunFlats)

These Tires got the best results for Comfort (Quietness) and has Softer Side Walls than most 18" tires........ has a 400 TreadWear also....they are HR speed rated tires.....

I'm getting these tires at www.TireRack.com in a couple weeks....

I heard great results with these tires......very quiet and very comfortable,
You will sacrifice road handling, but the Quiet(ness) of these and tires are worth it.

They are only 159.00 dollars a piece, so its a pretty good investment......

p.s. also, from what I hear on this board, the difference between RunFlats and NonRunFlats are night and day.......I guess no matter what NonRunFlats you get, you will be happy....

my 0.02 cents.....

i think you're supposed to stay with at least the same speed rating or higher when replacing your tires...

Default Tires

My primary concern relates to QUIET RIDE and COMFORT. Which tires are the BEST in these two areas; be it regular or run flat? Then, what specific make, model, size. Thanks for all the comments!

Getting beat to death by the bumps in Ohio.

Kurbie, did you change out your tires yet and what did you get if so? The best tires I have ever had have been the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Excellent comfort, quiet, traction and handling. They are expensive but worth it IMHO.
