Exclamation General Q about OEM vs aftermarket

I am wondering what the quality diference is between say a OEM wheels and after market replicas. I always hear that aftermarket ones have a better chrome finish and lasts longer. Like tripple chrome or something? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rock

oem may not go that extra step but you will have a much better chance for replacement if something happens.

Aftermarket does claim triple chrome but unless you don't clean your wheels, it doesn't really matter.

Trust me when you chip a wheel, it goes all the way down to the base most times and you will see the mark regardless.

Cool wheels

So if you are buying them after the car.. like used. Would you say that buying a set of used aftermarkets is just as good as buying a used set of oem? I know OEM is always a question whe you buy anything for your car. But as far as wheels go... if the "replacement" factor is not applicable because they are used and usually from a private seller... Is there much advantage to buying OEM as opposed to aftermarket replicas?

Thannks,
Rock
