Default Michelin PS2 or XGTZ4?

My priority is quiet and long life, not performance.

Should I buy the Michelin PS2 or XGT Z4?

Are there better choices?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is what you want then. Long treadlife.

Are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S very quiet also?

What's the exact tire size you need swerve? The Falken Ziex ZE-512's have a 60,000 mile warranty with 60 + 65 series tires.......55 & under they are good for 30,000 miles. My wife had them on her car 205 50 16's (a bit of an odd size) & she's already put 15,000 miles on them in a little over a year........the tire still looks brand new!

You won't find a better value than the Falken's.....the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is indeed a fantastic tire.......but VERY expensive! You would be able to buy roughly 2 sets of Falken's for the price of one set of the Michelins & they will last roughly the same amount of time & mileage to boot!

My tire size is 235/45/17 for my 2001 GS430. My priority is tied to quietness and long life. Are the Falkens quiet also?

Very quiet. Sure they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Treadwear of the Falken's either Ziex 512 or ST115 are just 360 rating where as the Michelins have a 400 treadwear rating. Take it from a person that does 30k miles a year (My 2004 IS300 purchased new in Sept 2003 w/5 miles on the odo now has 53,100 miles to date). It's worth every penny.
