Bright satin vs. Silver on a Black GS400?
Ok you guys, I'm looking for some help from any and all who have some knowlege they can impart to me. I'm planning on putting new rims and tires on my GS400 (blk/blk), lowered about an inch on L-tuned shocks and springs, painted calipers, X-drilled rotors. I'm pretty set on the SSR GT3's 18 X 8.5 all the way around. The rims as I'm sure you know, come in silver or bright satin both with machined lip. What I want to know from those who have seen them is: how will the satin finished rims look against the black onyx color of the car. Will it be a nice compliment or do you think it will be too dark? Would the silver be a better choice? Does anyone have some good pictures of these on a black car? I know that a number of members here have or have had these rims. So, come on Mavens (that means experts) help me out here.
Thanks
L.G.

So, those are the silver in the photo above. Very nice indeed and not as bright as chrome. BTW, the shine on the car looks fabulous, what do you use?

I just wish someone could post a pic now of another black but with the bright satin for comparison purposes. Anyone out there?

i think the silver would look good but the satin just gives it that evil racer look, brushed alluminum would look great on blk but i don't think ssr has that option.

LG, Satin for sure. SSR has a VERY nice design, but 1 thing I like to share with you: I got GT3 18x8.5 all around for my client's BMW 330 (by then the x9.5 was all sold out), the lip is only 2". If you are a performance driven person, then SSR is a great choice, but I will still highly recommend the STAGGERED setting (not too much difference on the pricing any way ) $2K+ is not a small amount of $, I just don't want you to regret. Good Luck GT3 is still 1 of the best designs in my showroom
