19" fat setup - speedo recalibration?
Interesting thread on 19" fat setup the other day. I understand that a fat setup will give inaccurate speedo readings. Is there any way to recalibrate?

Even the stock 16s and 17s tire setup aren't the same size so who knows what the 'right' size is anyway.
And yes, you can't fix the speedo, but you can fix the nav (I did!).

I have the fat setup. Everytime I see one of those speed contraptions that the police setup to show you your speed, I'll turn around and go past it several times to see if it is correct(usually in a neighborhood or 2-lane road). I always set my speed on 'cruise'. Every single time it has clocked me at exactly what my speedo reads. All the way up to about 70mph. So, like Bit said, who knows?

well from the start lexus under rates the speedo i think i read it in one of their safety pamphlets... also just like 400dgrz said when ever i get a chance to see those speed trackers i try to compare my speedo to whats displayed on the machine. every time i notice my speedo is dead on with what is displayed, btw im riding on 20 with 35s
THEN... u need to factor tread depth, tire pressure, etc. soo i would say if u riding on 19's u'll be fine just dont over doit when u speed..

Yup, OEM 16s & OEM 17s have a different circumference. When I put my OEM 16s next to my OEM 17s, the 17s are about 1/2" taller in diameter. I remember asking a question about this a few months back, but I don't remember seeing anyone replying to it.
I think the best way to get an accurate speed read out is to use a GPS unit. One of these days, I'll get a GARMIN handheld unit and test it out.
