Default Weights on Rims - Wheel Balance

I just had new tires installed for my wife's minivan and noticed a weight on the outside of the rim. This reminded me that when I got new tires on many of my previous cars, they included the small weights for wheel balance.

I have attractive chrome rims on my LS400 and would not like to see these weights when I get new tires.

First question is....are you guys seeing this when you get new tires and am I fussing amount a minor detail?

Second is....is there another application that could be used, such as inside of rim, as opposed to outside of rim?

Third is ...do away with we weighting and don't worry about perfect balance of tire?

Thoughts and comments would be welcome...thanks!

Ask the tire guy to balance them " static ". Balancing this way only puts the weight on the inner lip.

Yes, they can be put on the inside. You just need to specify with the installer. If they don't know how, then find another place.

Thanks guys! I will insist that they put any weights on the inside or I'm going elsewhere.

I just had my new tires mounted. I asked the guy to use stick on weights. Did a pretty good job I think.
