If you run spacers, you will need pretty good sized ones (about 10mm), so its up to you. Do not know if you want to run spacers front AND rear.

As long as you run a good hubcentric spacer they will be ok. And running a spacer ft and rear is not a problem at all.

Unless you are getting a great deal on those, I'd wait to get a set that is closer to spec. Yes, a good set of hubcentric spacers would be OK but given the choice of to-spec no-spacer vs. not-to-spec spacer, I'd still choose the former.
Plus, I think the 8.5 fronts would be better than 8 fronts for the GS. Both are fine, one is just more optimal IMO. It all comes down to compromises. If the wheels are a deal too good to pass up, think about if you are willing to live with the drawbacks vs. getting a set better spec'ed for the GS.
