Anyone here work at discount tire???
Just curious if you can give me some info on how the road hazard warranty deal works? What if I only have insurance on two of the tires but buy 4? how will they now which ones are covered? Just curious because it kind of stuck in my mind last time I bought tires without the insurance.... How do you guys make money if you already beat the best price and then replace the tires for free if warranty is purchased? Well I look forward to any replies... Bryan

There is a decent mark p on tires if I recall, it's just a matter of how much of a deal a particular place wants to give you. if there isn't much of a mark up, they are making their money by mounting them and everything that comes with it...
As far as the insurance, not sure about the buying 4 and only 2 with insurance, maybe they won't let you do that?
BUT, in terms of that option losing them money, insurance is insurance regardless of what kind. They know only a small % of people will make a claim, just like any other form of insurance. And more then likely the insurance for 4 wheels, the cost, will likely cover the cost of replacing 1 tire if someone does make a claim, just to further their odds of making money.

I don't work at Discount but...
When we sell road hazard we have to sell for all 4 tires and I would guess other stores have the same stipulation. Our road hazard program is administered by acompany called Sonsio and they do many other tire businesses besides TTR.

Ahh I see... That makes sense that they won't give insurance if you only buy 2 tires.... I also see how they add up... $20.00 insurance ea so x4 is about $80.00 plus the hasel of claiming if you have to... I guess it isn't really worth it.... Bryan
