Calling all wheel experts!!!!!!!
My friend wants to stick the JDM Aristo wheels on his Honda Pilot. Yes, I have already given him a hard time about it. But hey, he wants what he wants, so...
Does anyone know if these will fit? How about getting me in touch with someone who will?
The JDM Aristo wheels are 18 x 9, +45. I see a lot of 18" rims recommended by Tire Rack for the Pilot at 18 x 8, around +42 offset. I'm sure those recommended rims are fairly conservative in offset. Since the Pilot will fit a 20" + rim, I figure an 18 that sticks out to the edge of the wheelwell should be fine as long as the tire is not too wide. However, I'm concerned that there will not be enough room on the inside - by my calculations, the wheel will be 5/8" closer to the inside wheel well.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks folks!
btw, Brandon@tirerack, you have e-mail.

The offset sounds okay for the Pilot, but I have not measured one personally, so I cannot verify a 9" wide wheel will work for this appliation in this offset.
One detail: the Lexus hub bore is 60.1mm, and the late-model Hondas use 64.1mm.
If these are OE-type wheels, they won't have hub-rings that can easily be popped out
(the wheels would be bored to the OE Lexus hub @ 60.1mm) to accommodate the larger
Honda hub bore. If this is the case, you'll need to have the hub bores opened up by a machine shop.

Bob, I think my friend is going to bore the hubs at Russell's.
