This is a really strange problem you're having. Normally lowering the car does not cause such excessive wear. With good alignment you should easily get 15,000 mi / 24,000 kl out of your tires. So, lowering is not an issue.

Question, have you checked the air pressure? An overinflated tire can sometimes wear out like that.
I was hoping to use the tires for at least 2-3 summers. since I only use the car for summer. I actually checked the tire pressure every week. didn't want to take the chance of wrecking the wheels. lexus and my mechanic don't have a clue since the wear is evenly. falkan told us the rubber type we bought was made of soft compound but supposed to still last for 24kl. i'm waiting for my contact with lexus if they have any recall about uneven power on a AWD. maybe next summer I will buy a more harder compound so it will last longer.

Do you know how the wear rating compares between the front and rear tires?

Does your GS have the rear steering? Maybe that is whats making you go through tires...

A happy medium between alignment and set up is key. Uneven wear is a risk after lowering, so a proper set up will help your pockets from being emptied replacing tires.

Hey,

Just a thought but could it possible be due to the different spring rates? The Tanabe's are made for the RWD, and the AWD is about 200 lbs heavier (don't know how that is exactly split in terms of weight distribution). I will be putting RS*R Down springs on my car next month and will report back, apparently RS*R has springs specifically for the AWD spec.

Good luck!
