But I was looking on the lexus.com website and they list it as a 3000 dollar option. Am I just imaging things or didn't it used to be standard?
Has anybody here done any side by side comparisons with and without it? Does it just reduce lean in corners or does it also improve ride quality?

The Active Stabilizer Suspension is standard on the GS450h but available on the GS430.
Ride quality as far as cornering keeps the car flat. Body roll is reduced as if you had a set of good quality springs and aftermarket sway bars on the car. I would say the handling is as flat if not flatter than my IS300 with coilovers and upgraded sways. Ride quality is about the same as far as regular straight line driving. You won't notice any difference until you do an evasive manuever or hit the twisties.
