Different shocks front and rear options
Hi fellas,
As we all know bilstein shock has always been back ordered, So I’m thinking putting different shocks (like Kyb) in the front against my bilstein b8 in the rear, with H&R springs, is it safe to do so? And how about the stiffness? How does it gonna affect the handling?
Any info will be appreciated,
Thank you,
Bo

Safe? Sure. The front probably will feel a little softer than the rear. I expect handling will suffer slightly, but unless you're out on a racetrack measuring 10ths of a second, I don't think it's a concern. I waited something like 10 months for my B8s to show up, so I feel your pain. KYBs are fairly inexpensive so you could always run them until the B8s show up if you're inclined to do the work over again. I'm glad I waited for mine, personally. But I also realize with the complications of the Covid supply chain, it could be weeks, months, or years, if ever, when the next shipment shows. :-/
@KyleH thanks for your info, cuz I was just wondering if I brake into a corner or even straight line, the car is gonna have a longer braking distance due to the weight in the front and the suspension stiffness, but at the same time it gives me more traction, so it kinda canceled out each other, really interesting, anyways appreciate your confirmation, probably gonna swap it on since my oem shocks are pretty much worn out and I don’t really got a lot of options.
