Default 2017 IS 300 Squeaking Brakes

Is this an issue with all Lexus IS models? Mine squeal nearly everyday when I start the car after its been sitting for a few hours. Just want to know if this is normal for Lexus

How many miles do you have on the brakes? I have 3,000 miles and I have 0 squeal issues.

The Lexus brake pads are a ultra high grade brake material that has a big bite. It’s Japanese made. Your squeal is because the pads are made of metallic and are design for good stops. In this case it is the drivers braking habit that the brakes are overheating and glazing the surface

My 2017 is300 with almost 15k miles does the same thing after sitting for a while too. I’m guessing from the brakes being just cold to actually warming them up. It will do it for the first couple pumps and then it’s gone after that. Really annoying pulling out of my driveway in front of neighbors and them hearing them squeak.

Our brake pads are actually German made. Not japanese made.

As far as squeal, you'll want to wash your wheels/brakes with high pressure water fairly often to blast away any dust that accumulates in the brackets the pads sit in.

Is there a guide on this? And any tips if you painted your calips? Recently painted mine with G2 paint.

No guide. just point high pressure water nozzle at brakes.

if you're painted, just better hope you did a good paint job.

So it’s dust that’s accumulating in the pads that’s causing the squeaking? I’ve been having this same issue and it’s annoying pulling out of the driveway In the morning. Are their better brake pads that block dust and anything else from getting in?

You could go akebono ceramic which have much less brake dust I mean A LOT less, but you’ll be sacrificing that hard initial bite you get from the high friction high dust pads.

Is the bite on the akebono pads that much different from the OEM ones?

Yes. It's a more linear braking experience. I actually like that as it's easier to modulate the brakes especially in traffic, but others would rather the off/on "bite" sensation you get with the semi-metalic OEM pads.
