This is completely off topic and a tad late, but please what's the story with your MR2??
Just a basic stripped down AW11 with a Kirkey seat and Ariel Atom wheels. Will weigh a bit more in a few weeks when the cage gets put in. It's destined to run the 24 Hours of Lemons next month so I'm expecting a few cars to "modify" it for me and reduce its weight further
I'm not sure how great that will be in a car that weighs this much. Are you stripped down or still daily driving?
It's manageable in my 2000lb MR2 with 205's... but its a nightmare in the SC when the PS pump is down.

I picked mine up in really bad shape, but I'd love some day to get all the rust fixed and to a state similar to yours but the weather in my area is not permitting it -_- haven't even drove it more than two feet yet :/
My understanding is that Grannas Racing on Facebook was the one who had a manual steering option for the SC. Hit up Joel Grannas and ask him.
Not sure the point unless you're strictly drag racing. If you just want to lose the power steering pump, get a MR2 pump and switch to an electric pump.

Listen to this guy. I removed the power steering pump and stripped the rack on my race car and ran it one weekend. When I got home that week I put it all back together. It is just a beast to handle this car with manual steering.
