Default RSR Downs installation cost

SO, called 3 shops for pricing on just the install of the springs. All 3 shops were right around $800 with alignment. That's seems way high to me. They say its more because of the adaptive suspension. Is this a crazy price?

Anything over$300-400 is excessive IMO

I ran into the same thing. Most shops consulted the Lexus service manual which apparently shows it as something like a 9+ hour job, so they benchmarked it off of that (I don't believe any of them had actually done it before). I just did it myself after getting the quotes, and it definitely does take some time. You learn a few things along the way that would make doing it a second time quicker, but you can't get around it taking a while - even in a shop. If you are comfortable working on your car, doing it yourself isn't a bad option, and it saves some real cash. There is an awesome DIY thread in this forum on spring install.

With a lift. It took me about 3 hours to get it installed. If you know your way around wrenching then it shouldn' take a shop too long to do it

I paid $420 to get mines installed - RSR Down Springs on a '15 IS F Sport. I did shop around and most shops wanted $400-$600, so it is a pricey job! I'm in Connecticut. I would have had my father install them as he did with my previous Lexus and Scion; however, he didn't have the time to do so. As another member said, if you're comfortable working on your own car and feel as you can pull it together then do it yourself! Good luck!
