If Replacing My Brakes, Do I Need To Replace Everything?
2015 is350 F Sport....have to switch out my brakes for the first time. Thinking of going with the Akebono. If i replace the existing pads, do I need to replace the shims, rotor, and everything else too? Or can I just put the new pads on?

On past vehicles (haven't changed the brakes on my IS yet) I usually have my rotors resurfaced (if able) or replaced (if too thin) when changing pads. Idk if it's completely necessary but it's how I was taught. If you remove your rotors and take them to a shop to be machined the cost is usually pretty low to have them "turned".

If you have vibration when braking at highway speeds your rotors are warped. If no vibration while braking your rotors are fine. If your rotors are warped I'd replace them vs. turning them.
Back in the day turning rotors was fine when you went too long without changing brake pads. The brake pad metal would chew up the rotors and it could be fixed if it wasn't too deep. Nowadays rotors warp because of the low quality materials used in the rotor. Turn them if you want but it is a temporary fix that won't last long.
