Default Need help Diagnose a loose suspension symptom

Hi All,

I was doing some work today and afterward the car's suspension seems a little looser when going over small bumps along with some noise that were not there before.

I have a 99 SC400 with 159k miles and today, I did the following work:

1. Replaced the transmission mount
2. Oil change (I doubt this caused the issue)
3. Replaced rotors and pads front and back (A mechanic helped me do the work)
4. Installed the IS250 17inch wheels and tires with about 7mm tread left all 4 sides

I was wondering if you guys think the wheels could be the most likely suspect causing this issue? When going through bumps at slow speed, I hear hear a loose noise from the suspension and I thought they were not there before doing the work today.

All 4 tires have 32 psi in them and wear seems ok.

I was not sure if the brakes or the trans mount could also cause the issue I am experiencing but everything seems really tight and does not feel loose at all.

For guys running 17 in wheels, have you guys experience a change in suspension movement or noise afterward?

Thanks in advance.

Ed

Wheels definitely, trans mount was tightened to the point that I was not able to tighten further without destroying it

After more reading, I have a feeling that it may be the brakes.

Lug nuts are to be Torqued to 76 ft. lb. Trans mount to transmission is 18 ft. lb.; Trans crossmember mount to body is 19ft. lb.
Use a good Torque wrench, not just your Biceps.
How many miles on the suspension bushings?
