2015 IS 250 fsport brake
Hi guys,
My car has 39000 miles and the dealer wants me to change the brake pad and rotor. I get the brake pad part, but he told me the rotor of the f sport can't be resurfaced and must be replaced, because the f port is different than .... blah blah....
What do you guys think? Need some advice.
Thanks,
Dan

If the rotor doesn't have enough thickness left to resurface, then that's one thing. But if he's saying you just need to replace it for some reason then that's another. better call back to find out.
If you for sure need to replace the rotor though, you can probably get an aftermarket rotor for much cheaper from a reputable company like stoptech/centric or something.

I just replaced my rotors and pads myself with Centric Premium Carbon Rotors and Akebono ACT1118 ceramic pads. Took me 3 hours total. 1st side about 2 hours, 2nd side 30-45 minutes. It's easy once you do one of them. I could probably do it all over in 1.5-2 hours.
I spent $240 on parts - saved over $400 based on the dealership estimate. You can do it yourself!

Check out Rockauto. great prices. I found out Textar (BMW supplier) makes pads for our cars. I plan to try them when I need pads =) Trust BMW pads!
