Do xxr 526 18x9+35 clear ls400 BBK?
I have an sc400 w/ xxr 526 18x9+35 at the front.
I would like to do the ls400 bbk thing but I don't know if the rim will clear the brakes.
I read somewhere before(long time ago) saying they don't but don't remember what sizes. tried looking for the information but couldn't find anything nor anything here int he forum. Maybe I had a dream... LOL

ok so I kept looking around and found out that 526 18x8.5 +35 do clear the ls400 bbk...
My guess is that 18x9+35 do clear as well. Still I need someone that knows more to confirm if this true so i can start working on my car.

Measure the rotor clearance with the stock brakes. Use a ruler and measure the distance from the rotor face to the inside of the wheel spoke at the location of the caliper. If it is 2.5" minimum anywhere on the caliper radius then it will probably clear. If it is not, it will not clear. The LS rotor has a thicker hat than the SC400 rotor so the 2.5" corresponds to 2 7/8" clearance when you install the LS rotor. The LS caliper sticks out about 2 3/4" from its rotor but the shape means you need this clearance from almost the hat out to the outer edge of the caliper.
At least if you measure you have some idea what you are up against.

Oh ok. Yeah my xxr 531 are +35mm I guess worst case is I can always just pick up two 531 that are +15mm offset and that would work right

That's not true. Offset doesn't have much to do with it. Its spoke style and Disk size. I have a set of stepped lip 18x9 Work VS-KF's that are +20 offset and they do not clear my LS400 BBK. I had to get a custom 8mm spacer made just to run a safe 2.5mm gap btw the spokes and the caliper.

350z 35th anniversary wheels which are 18x8 +30 clear with LOTS of room. Thats because they are high disk
