Brake warning light in dash comes on when applying brakes
My Brake warning light in the dash panel comes on when applying the brakes. It goes out after letting off of them.
This is intermittent but happened after the car sat without driving for two weeks.
Mileage is 43,000 and brakes were checked at 40,000. Brake fluid level looks good.
Anyone have any idea of what the car is trying to tell me? Thanks for comments

I've read some posts where this usually happens in the winter when the car is very cold. Your car should still be covered under warranty, so take it to the dealer to have it checked again, just in case.

Check ya brake fluid level in the engine compartment. I had this problem and when I went to the dealership to have a bunch of things done, this was one of them. Looked at my service receipt, they added brake fluid, no charge of course. If the above is not the case, then proceed to take it to the dealership. Best of luck.

Cut-Throat
I have just finished reading through quite a few posts and it seems like this is not an unusual occurance.
It seems that this happens when the brake fluid is a tad low. Also cold weather does seem to affect it. I took off the cap of the Brake fluid resevior and the problem went away for now.
This is probably a combination of things. My plan is to clean the cap real good and add a tad bit of brake fluid. Does not seem like it's worth a trip to the dealer.
Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Historically with lots of cars, when the light goes on when you apply the brake the fluid is low. When it stays on, the fluid is REALLY low. And for Christmas sake put the damn resevoir cap back on!!!!!!!!!

EX996,
Sorry - I should have been more specific!
I took the cap off, looked at it and put it back on. The light has not come on since.
Maybe this is something like the check engine light on some cars. When you open the gas cap and close it the light goes out.
