The 2000 GS400, and the GS430 use a vacuum type mechanism when applying the brakes, or so I have been told. It is different from the 98/99 GS4 models. It just assists in applying the brakes harder, in an emergency situation.

go with a real brake setup ie Supra TT brake ...for a real upgrade

Or, change the stock pads and rotors to a better one.

-->swap the 430brake to your car is a waste of time, minimum gain, unless you already have the 430 brake lying around the house then give it a try. I just don't see how the same caliper, same rotor size and same pad can make a "real" different from one car to another. Per, Lexciting's comment, I agree, but that mean the internal of brake master cylinder has to be changed to increase the brake presure, it's not done on the caliper, at least I don't see how.(ie may have to swap the master cylinder too to get the benefit, that is one MAJOR job)

totally agree, with the price to do that swap, you can probably get two sets of brakes upgrade alread

You can't do supra brakes though unless your rims can fit the huge supra calipers. Great upgrade if you can do it though.

i've done the supra brake upgrade,

B***ch and a half.

just to save u time and money, if u plan on using the stock 17's, do yourself a favor and get the H&R 15mm spacers, i found that out the hard way when my car was on the hoist and the wheels wouldn't close,

HUGE difference from stock brake upgrade, but now i'm used to it and i want even bigger, stillen 6piston, here i ***.

YES, as soon as i get my planning straight,
i'm probebly busting it in 19's for summer,

Trust me, i would pay anything for brakes,

MY supra brakes saves my as$ so many times, it costs me so far as much as the 4piston stillen upgrade so far, BUT it has paid me in rewards that it kind of evens out.

hehe, SO many incidents with cops,me doing 200km and woops we see cop on a slam the brakes and easily to like 120 and pass his as$.

So many times, i was about to crash:eek: and my brakes saves me son, so ap6piston is a keeper, if the supra is this good, i can't imagine how good those are.

I just have problems with the warping on the rotors, i'm a little hard on them

need 2 piece rotors,

Thumbs up

need good rubbers (ie tires) too, no good if your big brake stop the wheel, but the rubbers don't stick to the ground
(how I know this? my nittos 555 in the front is driving me nutz. when i hit the brake hard, they slip like crazy ho ho ho)

one thing I learn from the auto-x folks is: a few miles back before you get home or reaching where you want to go, go easy on the brake, let it air cool. That will prevent your rotor from warping hell.
heat on the rotor on a parked car is what cause warping, if you can cool the rotors down, you are in good shape.

I am still wondering about the Porsche 911 brake, they run 2 air duct from the front directly to the disc, that is what you need
