forgive me if this topic has already been covered, my search ability (and patience level ) is not what it used to be as i get older ... that said:




before resorting to an aftermarket camber kit ... is there any fancy way one could dial in extra positive camber? the car in question is currently stuck at -3.5 and will go through tires like crazy until this matter is solved ... any input/help is greatly appreciated!




-4.1 degrees of camber on the rear drivers side (before i adjusted it)

Dennis with that drop you won't get anymore positive camber than that. I couldn't get anymore than -3.2 in the front of my car with how low I am. With all the natural camber the car is getting from the drop there's only so much factory adjustment. Aftermarket is the only answer if you want to adjust it more.

Did you buy aftermarket parts or did you just live w/ all that camber? Also .... would changing out his bushings in the rear control arms help at all? The car has a good 180k and in need of new bushings

even if the bushings arent bad yet, you should still replace them as they will probably go soon if not already. if the bushings are bad, then the toe adjustments will always fluctuate. although both camber and toe are factors in tire wear, toe is the biggest issue.
with that said, you should still do the bushings and try to get toe back into spec.

I should mention his toe is just fine, I'm impressed w/ how much range our oem toe settings can handle!

When he brought the car to me he was 10mm's toe out, I got him dialed in at 1mm toe in, if I wanted to I could prob get another 4mm-5mm toe in (obviously I would not do that tho, lol)

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being really sketchy) ... how would you rate doing the "cut re weld" idea?

considering that's the setup i'm running in addition to cheap tc sportline uca's, i'd say pretty low. have a reputable shop/welder do the work and i wouldn't worry. I personally had it done at bver, and it's been close to a year with no negatives to report.

edit; found older pics of my rear suspension setup. This allowed me to be at -1.5

at this kinda height

Dennis with the camber that I'm at the tires have still lasted quite a while. I just recently flipped the rears after over 8 months of daily use. So it will be easy for me to get 2 years out of these tires. Which at that point they will start to dry out from the Vegas heat anyway.

remind me (cause im too lazy to go thru your 100+ page member journal), how much camber and what kinda tires are you running again? and at 8 months, roughly how many miles did you get out of said tires?

i have the same problem in the front of my car. seeing as i am not ballsy enough to cut the lca where does one get a camber kit for our cars? what should i be expected to pay?

Well my fronts are newer Falkens because I went with a bigger size. But the rears are Nankangs 255/35/18. Camber in the front is -3.5 and rear is -4.0. And about 300 miles a week.
