Ksport W/ Custom Sprint Rate (Worth it?)
I have been reading a ton of negative feedback on Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilover setups. I understand that they aren't the most reliable or comfortable suspension out there for canyon/ light track use. I was thinking about ordering a set of these through a friend until I read some of the other posts. Something my friend asked for is what custom spring rate I would like to use. Could a custom spring for this setup make them worth buying or should I just bail on the idea of Ksport and go with other recommended brands from other threads? If the custom spring rate would help with these got any recommendations on rates?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have k-sports on my fc rx-7. I've had them on the car for about 2 years now, and driven it probably ~1000 miles. Both rears are blown and leaking oil, and all four are rusted in place although the car had never even been driven in the rain, just form washing the car I assume! Spring rates on the fc ones are way too high to even be useful...

i had k sports with custom spring rates. terrible. rears were leaking under 10000kms. i replaces with hsd and they are so much better. dont waste your money. save up a little longer, then you only have to buy them once

See my sig. What the hell is custom spring rate? Can you ask for 10.62 kg/mm and they'll make one for you? Or will they just grab whatever that's off the shelf, and throw them in the set? Sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine whenever people (especially sellers) mention 'custom spring rate' when it's nothing more than a swap.
In any case, throwing different springs rates on without giving attention to the shock is not ideal. This is why many suffer with ride quality/handling because the shock's are not match to the spring rates. If you're buying a set with different spring rates and the shocks are actually revalved specifically for them, then they'll be okay. If all they're doing is throwing on different springs, then it's no better than stiffer lowering springs on a OEM shocks. I suppose that's considered a custom spring rate too.
