Synergy, Black looks great! I keep putting off painting the calipers because I continue to delude myself into believing I can afford new brakes in the next few months.

How did you get the "Lexus" on the paint job?

I tried two different kinds of high-temp paint and found them both to be totally different. One I found at Pep Boys and it is also widely available at most auto stores, I believe it is called high temp engine paint or someting close. This paint was dull as hell and looked horrible. In fact, the best hi-temp black paint I found with a nice shiny finish was Rustoleum paint from Home Depot! Seriously, I sparyed on about 3 - 4 coats and it has a really nice glossy finish.

Hey Synergy. Nice job. Trying to find time to do mine. Did you sand your calipers down. They look really smooth for some reason. The stock ones has a "bumpy" texture to it.

What temp does those HD paint go up to?

For ty328 and Tim, I believe those are caliper stickers.

Synergy, did you put a gloss coat over the stickers?

Neo - Yes, the stock finish is bumpy, however if you apply four heavy coats of this paint it comes out smooth and glossy. I didn't sand or apply any clear coat. I have heard stories about how clear can't handle the heat and begins to bubble and will also melt your vinyl sticker.

The Rustoleum paint is awesome and handles up to 1000 + temps. It is a long project because of the multi coats, but it is way worth it.

See ya
