Default Slammed IS, rubbing front tires

Hey guys,

I threw on BC Coils with 19x9.5 rims on 225 35 19 tires on the front and when i go over bumps at times the tire rubs where the bumper connects to the fender. There is a metal groove where the tire rubs.

Has anyone else have the same issue? I know i can raise the car or get a camber kit, but wanted to know if anything has any ways around it?

Thanks

I'm having the same problem. I rolled, trimmed, banged tab and heat gunned my liner and still rubbing. I think i'm just rubbing on my liner now.

What offset are you running? How low are you, better yet do have any pics?

a few questions.

1. where is the metal groove on the tire, along the tread, the shoulder blocks, or the outside sidewall of the tire?
2. what is the offset of said wheels?
3. have you performed any fender modifications to run said wheels?

having this information will help us figure out what you need to do to accomodate those wheels/tires.

+1 for knowing the offsets. Cutting/bending that tab and heat gunning/cutting the fender liner solvers most rubbing problems (assuming the tire size is right).

i am running the same setup as you are, the tires actually ripped the finder liner. I was afriad that the metal tab was going to cut through the tires so I had the shop heated it and rounded it a bit for me. Now the tires do not rub, however, due to the ripped hole, water got in and now my hid fogs need to be replaced.

Could anyone please give more details/instructions on how to cut the metal (or bend it?)
Cutting would be preferred, but maybe bending is easier...
