Default ABS light on!

Codes:

C0278 - open/short circuit abs solenoid relay solenoid

C0205 - left front wheel speed sensor signal fault

C1254 -pressure switch fault

C1223 - fault in abs system

C1253 - hydro boost pump motor relay fault

All these codes popped up after installing the rear tie rod ends. The front wheels were never touched.

Any insight on this would much appreciate it.

Ouch..Could be a coincidence if the wheel sensors were not touched. when you did the work, what exactly was your sequence?

If you can get the codes cleared, go from there..see if they come back and if you feel the ABS start to make noise or fail. i had the BMC do this on me once. The unit went crazy after a simple Bleed. i got like 12 codes at once. i re-set the codes and Bam...The ABS was shot, had to replace the unit. good luck

Reset the abs system using the diagnostic port under the hood (near the driver side headlight). Theres a thread around here somewhere, just look for ABS reset procedure. All you need is a stripped 3 inch or so wire. Reset it, drive the car for a bit and see whats popped up.

If that fails to rectify the problem get out your multimeter and test the front and rear abs sensors and report back with the ohm/voltage reading. (test voltage/ohm by measuring resistance -- i.e. take your multimeter and follow the abs sensor from the hub attachment screw/head to the plug in, might have to remove the fender liners, once the plug is located remove the head and stick your tester into the plug connection and read out the numbers).

You can't clear ABS codes via autozone or advance. There's a 'tool' that will do it besides the dealer but its a $120.00 cable.

My guess is that you shorted something.

I still get the buzz everytime I start the car so the booster is fine. Sequence was basically change the right rear tie rod then left and that's it.

I did try to erase the codes several times with a Snap-On scanner but it can't be erased.

Thanks for the advice, I will get some readings. And yes, I think I got an open/short circuit somehow which made it popped up 5 codes. Will post back next week, my schedule is soo heck it.
