Default Replacing Front Caliper Lower Guide Pin

I was replacing my front brake pads last weekend and I have a seized lower caliper guide pin on the front left caliper. The top slides fine.

Called my local dealer for a repair kit. Pin cost $13. A boot kit will be $60!! I asked again if he was sure it was the correct boot kit and he assured me it was. The parts list sounds like a complete caliper gasket, pins and cylinder boots.

I'm looking for suggestions on where else to get the repair kit...pin, boot, grease.

Thanks CL.

That's more likely the entire caliper rebuild kit. Check on rock auto to see if they have a generic kit.

I think you need to remove the seized pin first because if the pin is stuck in the bracket then there is no use for neither a new pin or boot kit!
