I just got my hardware kit to replace the rear but from the pics I see there is only one pin in use per caliper and I've read that there should be two per caliper... Using only one I could see that causing noise as it allows the pad to hinge on one end but maybe two would not allow the pads to move as freely. Can anyone confirm if there should only be one or two pins per side?

Nope the rear calipers have only 1 slider pin. That hardware kit will not dissapoint you when getting rid of the dreaded clanking.

And the noise is gone! Mine didn't have the springs at all and it took all of about 10-15 minutes from start to finish too.

I have the same issue on my 98 300 that I just bought. Would you be able to take a picture for me of how the silver V spreader springs fit into place with everything else? I haven't been able to figure it out from the diagrams and they don't have holes to slide into like on my LS I had.

If the rears, the 'W' faces towards the back of he car. Clip the bottom of the 'W' into the rear holes of the brake pads then the top of the 'W' into the forward holes of the pads...if that makes sense. Then the metal plate on top with your pins.

Default Low speed clanking noise.

Check for something loose inside the tire like the TPM. happened to me after a tire change. Had a low speed clanking noise. Jack the car up and spin the wheels.
