Default Brake noise won't go away

I bought my IS350 used about 3 months ago. The first month or so I didn't hear any brake noise but about 2 months ago I started to hear squeeking out of the front brakes. I took the car in to the dealership and they said the brakes looked fine and there was nothing wrong with it. They told me to just wash them off ever once in a while and that should take care of the noise. I tried that and it gets ride of the squeeking for about a day and then it returns. Is this common? I don't think I should be hearing my brakes squeek every time I try to brake.

Are you using the OEM brakepads? Make sure the brakepad shims are on and properly lubed with anti-squeel grease. Your brakes should not squeek evertime you brake.

Theres also a TSB out that if you complain to the dealer they can swap the pads out. The replacement pads make less dust and don't squeek.

The dealer claims that this was already done. I believe them cause I don't get much brake dust.

my buddy that works at the lexus of cerritos(CA) told me that this is an issue for all or most 2IS models. this is because when it was in r&d it was tested on the track and braking was always done at high speeds, not taking into consideration slow braking, and thus resulting in the brake squeeks at low speeds.

Actually there is a TSB to change out the rotors for a squeal noise. I recently had this done. Is your car an 06?

The brake dust TSIB will not fix this problem.

easy way to fix this:
1. find an empty parking lot with little/no speedbumps.
2. floor it
3. press firmly on the brakes

do this at your own risk.. lol

Yes, I had the same noise and it was VERY loud especially when car close to stop. Dealer fixed it along with the brake dust TSIB using diff shims to prevent from squeaks.

hmmm well what we do at our shop when installing new pads and rotors to prevent this is spray on a nice coat of a synthetic grease on the back of the pads and the sides where they slide into position of the bracket. but prior to that on NEW brake pads we SLASH a few lines verticly and horizontally so that there isn't a slick SMOOTH on SMOOTH surface contact when you press the brakes. No customer so far has come back due to brake noise other than eventual visits to get the brakes replaced again. (peep smust really be hard on their brakes nowadays) :P

hope this helps.

Maybe I should take it back to the dealer and try to get this done. Do you have a TSB Number?
