Thanks JavyLSU for the input. My front wheels have so much dust even after 1 day after a good cleaning. My driving habits I believe to be light to normal, I don't dual foot drive( 1 foot on gas, 1 on brake), nor do I tailgate to stop short. What type of driving habits shorten the life of my brakes as I am half city (population 136,000) in Coral Springs Florida where is it's completely flat and half highway driving. Also service on their own at 11,000 miles shaved my rotars w/out changing the pads. Now they say I need both pads and rotars as they are at 30%. Rotars maybe a little warped per service. Lexus wants to charge $249 for front brakes and $150 per rotar. Thanks, Go Gators.

Hey guys...

Good info. I just brought my 07 IS350 in and found out my front brakes are shot as well. Is it best to just stick with the OEM pads, or are there better aftermarket pads that perform better with less dust?

Also any one have a DIY guide for swapping brakes on the 2IS?

Thanks,

Check out the 2IS DIY/FAQ thread stickied at the top of the 2nd Gen IS sub-forum. Lots of good stuff in there.

Thanks,

Depends what you mean by performance. Brake pads don't change your stopping distance, so for normal street use there's no reason not to stick with the TSIB OEM pads (which produce very little dust).

If you're doing some sort of severe duty (driving down mountains daily, rally racing, etc) then some pads might have other benefits for you that'd be useless on the street.
