That's a good deal at firestone.

yep go twice and you've already covered your costs. Just make sure the shop has a long enough ramp so your lip doesn't get ripped off.

Don't they have to take off and apart the struts? Isn't that the time consuming part?

Not at all. With a spring compressor you should be able to swap each one within 5-10min. And reinstall it in about 10-15min. So 20-30min/side

I'm in Southern California and interested in getting the F sports put in - so you mind sharing the name of your highly recommended SoCal joint please? Do they do alignment as well? Thanks

I think they're quoting off of the official book time or something. Everyone here tells me the book says it's a 4 hour job and it's ~$80 an hour.

How long does it take to do this type of job?

I paid $16. I'm in the military and I took it to the auto hobby shop on base. They have all the tools you need and the lifts are $4.00 an hour. One of my CL buddies told me the Lexus in El Paso wanted $500 to install so I told him we could do it next weekend on base. I'm only going to charge him $499. JK Maybe he can buy me lunch or something like that. I take my car there when I need to work on it. It's much better than paying someone else or trying to use jacks in the garage.

$300 with alignment in high cost areas of CA, but primary concern is getting it done right.
