I guess the stock brakes are not too bad, but I thought alot of you would jump on the deal when it was first release. I am surprise no one has it on yet. me and the brakes......we need more speed than brakes i guess

considering that a set of ISF wheel cost around $6000 it wouldn't surprise me if the brakes are around that range...for that kind of money you can get a BBK plus cash for rims

Are you in british columbia? check out our section. We're going to have a big meet

Around middle of the summer the ISF brakes were on sale, a whole set of 4 front and back, caliper and rotors for $2k.

Unless you track the car (which few IS owners do) it'd just be for looks anyway

If Sewell had one of their "24-hour" sales with that pricing again, I'd be all over it.

the IS F brakes are those $6k + brakes? are they really a HUUUUGE difference or just for looks and "minor" difference?

If you mean for normal stopping distance in normal driving the answer would be "zero difference"

The brakes don't stop the car, the tires do.

If you mean cosmetically, they're certainly larger and prettier.

Now, difference at the track, in terms of fade resistance for repeated high speed stops, I doubt anyone has actually measured, but there'd certainly be a difference of some kind... and there's be an overall difference in the "feel"of the system.

or is brakes not really useful for higher end gear?

No one has done this because they're not bolt-on's. There's some pretty extensive modifications that have to be done to fit the IS-F brakes onto the ISx50. If you want to go BBK you're much better off going with the Brembo GT kit for IS350, or some other kit that's actually made for this car.

THESE are IS-F brakes (monoblock Brembo):

THESE are F-Sport brakes (two-piece StopTech's):

The F-sport brakes are bolt-on's to the ISx50, the IS-F brakes are definitely NOT.

OEM VS aftermarket street wise is their real "upgrade" in performance by buying high end brakes?
