Ball joints!! Replaced! yea!
My car has been sitting pretty low since I got it in 02. Lately I noticed that my ride was getting really loud, and bouncy in the front, almost scary. At first, I thought it was blown suspension, but when I took it in for service, they told me that they(ball joints) are about to break, and were even scared for me to leave the shop!!!!
I got them replaced!!!!!!!YEA!!
Car drives brand new again...world of difference!! CAnt believe how much smoother and stock the ride feels.
Highly Recommend this any GS that is 98-01 that has been lowered for that long!!
JUST FYI!!!

did you replace the tie rods as well? I ask this because I remember reading another thread saying that when you replace the ball joints, the tie rods mind as well be replaced as well.
I'm actually going to have my ball joints replaced to later on this week and didnt know if it was necessary to have the tie rods replaced too. If I dont have to, I dont want to ya know. but if it has to be done, i mind as well man up and pay for it :-(
Thanks!!
My car is an 02 GS300 has been lowered, and I did have 18" wheels on it, but sadly, I need new tires, so i just put back on my stock 16" wheels back on. It rides so much better, but still is creeking around corners and up the driveway.
I'm gonan keep my wheels stock for the time being because I did miss that smooth, fairly quite ride.

I got my lbj changed about 3 thousand miles ago.... I changed the tie rods at the same time since everything was already off and they were roughly the same age. Might as well change them at the same time so you don't have to go through all that trouble.
Keep in mind, if you do the repair yourself.... Be careful not to damage the ABS sensor, it sucks when you have 3 annoying *** lights on the dash.

oh im not going to be doing any work to my car myself. that would be a disaster. im paying $130 from the dealership for the ball joints, im assuming thats a good price. how much are tie rods roughly?

Good to have friends that know their stuff, but I don't trust anyone working on my car but myself.
