No, you won't be able to fab something easily. The front RWD is an eye mount and the AWD is a clevis mount. No way in hell will it be easy to fab something or it would have been done already.

I was able to find one of the pictures I had of my front AWD suspension... here is the comparison to the front suspension of a RWD (almost forgot to mention the rwd pictures were directly taken from Sinister2c... thanks ).

AWD suspension

btw I also noticed something... the purple label on my AWD suspension had Tokico on it and then a part number. Anyone know for sure if Tokico are manufacturers of stock suspension? Because if they are, definitely a good idea to contact the company about coilovers.

RWD Suspension

That answers that question. You can see the bottom of the AWD front goes around the drive shaft. RWD is just a straight leg down to the mounting point.
Great pics.
still doesn't seam like a hard fix for a manufacturer.

1- no, the AWD has the front drive shaft that goes in between the dampers, its bend around the drive shaft and the damper is than attached to the "fork".

http://www.rhdjapan.com/home/product...roduct_id=5632

if they can make this, they should have no problem making one for the IS AWD.

2- spacers wont be necessary as it defeats the pupose of having the coilover set up. spaced for wheels maybe.

3- no, typically dampers can be valved to match the spring rate, which should be done during the process of "making" the suspension.

4- dont think thats that critical "but" when you lower or replace suspension components with aftermarket parts, in this case sport tuning the suspension it will place more stress to bushings and other components due tothe fact now the components and alignment angles are changed and its now outside of the designed paramaters, premature suspension component wear will occur and abnormal tire tire wear will result and obvisously noise issues.

5- looks like it might.

SO....

Spoke to TEIN again to try to bring our memeber "LOVE" in for the R&D work. Matt(guy at TEIN) told me unfortunately it will not be an immediate thing, or guaranteed to even happen at all. He was going to talk to some other people, see if it will be approved, although he said it could take up to a month.

My suggestion now, is we push him on it. Call up, and just make as many people there notified that we mean business.

You know I don't have exact numbers but I'd say almost 90% of IS's here in the Northeast are AWD's lol. Every IS I see is an AWD. It's a pretty big market.

agreed but I dont think a lot of people are aware of CL atleast on LI by me and some also dont even care about lowering their car or even modding it for that matter.
