Chassis Brace installed.. I can't tell the difference but VDIM can

I think it's probably because the F-Sport brace stiffen your chassis so the VDIM senses a little bit of understeer under hard cornering while it's calibrated to work with stock suspension. I got Tanabe coilovers because people said they ride like stock plus they can be easily adjusted. I'm still hoping my body roll can be reduced a little bit more, I'm still debating if I should get this brace or not....

Nice 'observation' thread
I am thinking of sways/brace myself, course im on tein SS coils so i am fully adjustable, thing is... im kinda nearing the end of my 'show' modding and will soon switch to 'go' modding, just need a 3 more items to come in that have been already payed for, so... maybe i'll just get sways since i dont really go blasting it all over the place, thx for the tip

If your VDIM is now much more touchier than it was before your chassis is now a lot stiffer and not giving as much. The springs and shocks are doing their job and the main difference you are experiencing is from the tires loosing grip a lot easier than they did before. You need to get some softer tires (lower treadwear) and try it out. Wider tires may help out but the rear being 18X8.5" limits how wide of a tire you could run. You may need to install a wider wheel and tire.

Yeah.. well.. my next mod was going to be a set of rims anyway... heheh question is stick with 8" fronts and go 9" rears or do what most here do and go 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears. I don't want to get too big and weigh myself down.. but then I would like there to be noticeable lips in the rear. decisions decisions...

Yeah to be safe i'll probably wind up with that setup too since that's what most people have on. I just can't help but think that each half inch in width adds like 2 or 3 lbs per wheel.. so not sure if it's worth it. The IS-F has 400+ hp and makes due with 9" rears so I was just thinking if it's good enough for them it should be good enough for me.

you can go as wide as 10 in the rear without sticking out of the fender and the weight really shouldnt matter if you get competition light weight wheels. my wheels are 19x8.5, 19x9.5 and my wheel tire setup is significantly lighter than stock. look at DPE, HRE, BBS, SSR they all have great competition weight wheels.

^^Yeah but that's not really the point.. I know that the wheels will be light if I go forged but if you choose a 9" forged wheel vs a 10" forged wheel that's still like 2 or 3lbs difference. I looked it up on one of the vendor charts for a set of Work's. That's just the wheel.. you'll also have to get wider tires too which will be another couple pounds heavier each. That'll add on like 5 or 6 lbs extra..
Performance to looks wise for 19's I think 8's in front and 9's in rear should be just about right for our 350's. The thing is everyone on here seems to be into the 'let's see how we can cram the biggest things we can under there' and I'm thinking.. if it's just for looks you can't really see how wide the front tires are from the side or back of the car and who'll be peeking under the front of your car anyway to see how wide they are?
The rears yeah you can tell though but I'm thinking 9" might be wide enough for the power of our car's anyway. Still.. I'm uncertain as to how that'll look or if the lip will be deep enough to look decent in the back. I only have seen the F sport wheels in that configuration but that's it. Would be nice if I could see more 8f 9r setups out there but nobody really seems to want to go that size.

I guess this is a good time to turn off VSC/TRAC.

Really? Wheel compliance is decreased, traction is reduced, so we'll turn off the stability controls to ensure the car gets loose unexpectedly? I'm really not following that at all. And yes, I've experienced this with more than one car I've owned.

No, it was more to keep everyone happy so they don't complain that vsc/trac is being way too intrusive. The simple fix for them, turn everything off.
